Advertising and Linking Policy
Advertising Policy
The site uses freeware and other than our time we have few costs. This enables us to provide the listings entries free of charge. Google ads, Amazon "Astore" and affiliate programs with some of those listed in the side bars of the site provide income. Affiliate links are carefully vetted to ensure that as far as we can determine the content of the products advertised is suitable for our visitors. The page to which the links lead may not be designed in the same style as Shared Care. "Astore" is clearly delimited at the bottom of the main central column.
Any other entry is recommended by community members and must be taken as a personal recommendation by people other than the owners of Shared Care. It is not commercial advertising and while Shared Care will edit any material as we see fit (see General Disclaimer) we are not responsible for its accuracy. The sponsored box in the sidebars are available to advertisers by negotiation. At the time of writing (10 December 2007) no other advertising is contemplated. We do not use banner ads.
Linking Policy
While we sometimes use link suggestion and exchange sites and SEO software to identify suitable sites that are relevant to Shared Care each one is personally vetted for suitability, ethos and so on by the editor before we will attempt to link. Each is therefore, as far as we can determine, ethical, proper and specifically related to the topic of the page on which it is placed. The numbers are strictly limited. Our practitioners and the sites of other enterprises recommended by the community may have an outgoing link from Shared Care. We request reciprocity but it is not mandatory.
We will never buy, nor accept payment for simple links or awards.
