Reflexology
In the 1930s Eunice Ingham developed the older idea from an american doctor Dr William Fitzgerald that there is a "map" of the body's organs on the feet. The left foot relates to the left side of the body and similarly the right foot to the right side of the body. The reflexologist can detect subtle differences in these areas and directs massage to the reflex area of the affected organ. This rebalances the subtle energy flows that are disrupted causing illness in the "reflex" organ, and promotes healing as well as a more general sense of wellbeing.
Less commonly the reflex areas on the hands can be used.

The qualifications and requirements for a practitioner to be registered may vary markedly from organisation to organisation. We would strongly recommend that you visit the organisation's website to ensure that your chosen practitioner is registered with an organisation which has requirements with which you approve.
The home country of the organisation is listed. Although their practitioner lists and training courses are likely to be limited to their own countries most will provide more information, advice, contacts and help wherever you live:-
