What is Bed Wetting?

Bed Wetting Symptoms

Bed Wetting (or Bedwetting); in medical terminology enuresis is a problem that affects about one in eight people in childhood. It becomes less common as people grow into adulthood but still troubles one in a hundred at age fifteen. It is acutely embarrassing both for children and parents and can inhibit a great deal of social activity. As it could be caused by potentially serious medical problems it needs to be properly checked out by a doctor and, if necessary, appropriate treatment undertaken.

When properly diagnosed, there are a number of drug treatments to either contract weak bladders or relax tense ones. They all have side effects. In intractable problems indwelling catheters may be used to get round the problem. They are not a cure.
