Stop Smoking
Smoking is implicated in many diseases. Smoking facts; many cancers and chronic lung conditions are much more common in smokers as are hardened arteries leading to strokes, heart attack and gangrene. It is likely from the statistics that the risks of these diseases diminish with every year that a person remains a non-smoker. Smoking cessation is hard. Tobacco is said to be 1000 times more addictive than Heroin and thus smokers need both sympathy and support in their efforts to stop.
Stop Smoking Treatments
Modern Western Medicine
Nicotine chewing gum, patches, tablets and nasal sprays are all used to help the nicotine withdrawal and help people quit smoking. They have side effects and can substitute one addiction for another. Nicotinic receptor agonist varenicline (champix) may also be used.
