Bowen Technique
The Bowen Technique resets the body to heal itself. It consists of a series of moves or light touches over the centres of muscles, ligaments and tendons which can be done through clothing. One of the most important features are the frequent pauses between these touches. These give the body time to benefit from each set. The Bowen practitioner is able to detect stress building up in each muscle (called "tissue tension sense"). Bowen moves are able to counteract that stress.
Healing is said to occur by affecting the body's autonomic nervous system, creating homeostasis at the cellular level.
