Homeopathy

Author Information

by mike last modified 2008-10-01 17:07

Some 200 years ago the observations of a German physician called Samuel Hahnemann led to the principles of homeopathy being determined. They are:-

  • Like cures like
  • Use the minimum effective dose.

The first was based on the observation that if healthy people were given a drug the effects on them were the same as the illness that drug was used to treat. This then is a pointer towards the treatment.

The second was that the more dilute the drug the more effective it became. This feature enabled the treatments to be much safer than those of ordinary medicine without losing their effect, in fact increasing that beneficial effect.

The homeopath will take a broad history of the problem involving both the body and mind so that the correct remedy can be selected. This will then strengthen and boost the healing properties of your body. The remedies are derived from the natural world and are not synthetic chemicals.
