Emotional Freedom Techniques
The name of this technique is often shortened to EFT and it is frequently described as a Meridian Therapy - its roots are in acupuncture and kinesiology. It was developed by Gary Craig following his training in a Meridian Therapy called TFT. Gary discovered a way to develop and simplify this and make it more accessible.
The dream Gary Craig had of spreading the healing word of EFT was enhanced by his making freely available a seventy nine page manual from his website www.emofree.com. Visitors to this site can also read case histories and treatment protocols which have been used on physical and emotional problems.
A description of EFT I frequently use is "similar to acupuncture but without using needles". Whilst the client is talking about their problem, acupoints points are stimulating by tapping on each meridian. The combination of tapping and being tuned to the problem helps to free individuals of fears, anger and sadness as well as physical pain.
I have had the opportunity to train with Gary many times and I find that I use EFT and teach my clients to use it more often than any other therapy I have learnt over the last 26 years. EFT is not just a technique but an impressive way to genuinely free us from trauma as well as create more harmony and peace of mind.
