Massage
Massage is a system of gentle, calming, flowing intuitive massaging developed from the rigorous standardised massage first described by Per Hendrick Ling in the 18th century.
There are a number of types of massage including:-
Swedish Massage. This is the most common type of massage. It is ideally performed with the patient unclothed on a specially designed couch with the practitioner generally treating the whole body using a variety of strokes from gentle stroking to deep pressure and treating of muscles.
Deep Tissue Massage. This is designed to help overcome and heal injuries to any muscles wherever they occur.
Sports Massage. This keeps the body flexible and prevents muscle injury or helps it to heal after injury.
Chair Massage. The upper body is massaged while the client is sitting in a special chair fully clothed.
Indian Head Massage. This is a massage therapy concentrating on the shoulders, neck and head. The practitioner works around the head from the shoulders and massages the whole head incuding face, ears and pressure points using varying degrees of pressure from facial stroking to deep scalp kneading.
